I recently received an email from a friend concerning the election and it got me thinking. Ya know, as a Christian, we are supposed to live according to God's Word and do our best to interpret His Word and put it into practice. Don't get me wrong, I am an imperfect Christian...Now when it comes to voting, yes there are many issues to consider, from the economy to the war, to abortion, free trade, marriage and the environment. The list is soo long. But when we examine each issue, we have to consider the later ramifications down the road. I'm sure everyone who even reads this by now knows who I support. But when I get to that conclusion, while yes there are some issues that have a major impact on ME in the HEre and NOW, there are issues such as abortion that impact millions of babies who can't speak for themselves. Maybe it's a personal choice, but as a Christian, and maybe you disagree, but as a Christian voting, aren't we supposed to vote according to our beliefs? Part of that email that I received brought a couple verses to my attention that I knew but forgot sorta. Here's part of that email:
"God knows it is a trying time right now. He knows the enemy has sowed confusion amongst the Body of Christ, especially concerning this upcoming election. God has already ordained the next president of the United States, to bring forth His will in this nation, at this time. And ultimately, with this new president God’s plan for the end times in the world will be put into motion. As a matter of fact, it has started already. There is nothing we can do to stop what was set up from before the beginning of the world. All we can do as Christians is vote according to His Word. For our vote is our support of the beliefs and stance of the candidates. If a candidate believes in cannibalism and we vote for them…guess what? That means we believe in and support, and take part in cannibalism. My example is extreme, but true. So how does a Christian vote? According to the Word of God. His Word is our daily guide out of darkness and into His marvelous light. If we are not voting according to His Word, we are voting against His Word. Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. .......................
Amo 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
What does God hate?
Pro 6:16
¶These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: Pro 6:17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, Pro 6:18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, Pro 6:19A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Abortion is shedding innocent blood. If you call it freedom of choice, this is a lying tongue. Call it what it is. "
Millions of innocent babies are dying every day and if that isn't more important than the economy? It's murder or could even be considered infanticide and one candidate is so extreme as to support partial birth abortion and numerous other pro abortion legislation. There have been more babies lost in abortion than all the deaths in the wars in our history. ANd as a mother this subject hits me at home...While I am on the fence of opposing abortion in the case of rape and incest and where the life of the mother is at risk (namely only ectopic pregnancy), there should be something done. And as a Christian we have an obligation to vote how God would expect us to. Not to sound cliche' but What Would Jesus DO? Now I know that there's a plan so if Obama is elected then I'll have to concede that it'll all work to that plan, but as a Christian I cannot support a man so radical in SO many areas, in our values as humans, or even economically. If you disagree with me, that's what is great about our country, we have the freedom of speech. I may not understand your logic in any way whatsoever, but I still love you and don't mean to offend anyone. I just am baffled by pro Obama Christians.. Love always..Jess

Thank you Jess for this post. I completely agree with you and am baffled as well at all of the Christian Obama supporters (as well as grieved). Most people are only thinking of their own wallet and not the impact that we as Christians can make on a society. I know we are in the end times and whoever is being placed in the White House will be following those prophecies laid out in Revelations but I believe that we will be judged by God for supporting men that are so against Him. The road to Heaven is a narrow one and it isn't cool or easy to follow. My father-in-law sent this last night and thought it was very fitting for this time.
14 Our courts oppose the righteous,
and justice is nowhere to be found.
Truth stumbles in the streets,
and honesty has been outlawed.
15 Yes, truth is gone,
and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.
The Lord looked and was displeased
to find there was no justice. Isa 59:14-15
